THE NANTUCKET TURK'S HEAD ROPE BRACELET
Everyone knows what these are. Depending on where you live, these are known as sailor’s bracelets (because they’d use them to wipe their brows while swabbing decks), friendship bracelets (because sailors would bring them back to their sweethearts), and surfer’s bracelets (for reasons unknown to me…). |
Our 2-strand bracelets are tied from 100% cotton and are guaranteed to shrink to wrist size, as intended. They come in four sizes sure to fit 95% of the human race and are ¾” wide.
Small fits most children ages 5 years and younger. Medium fits children and women with smaller hands. Large fits older teenage boys, average size men and larger women. Extra Large is for the BIG folks in the family. Not sure what size you need, check our sizing guide.

Our cotton belts are tied in a doubled six-strand flat sennit. They come in four sizes and are amply proportioned. The solid brass hand polished harpoon buckle are custom made to my specifications. They may be machine washed...but do not put them in the dryer!

MONKEY FIST KEY RINGS
In much larger form, monkey fist knots are tied around a weighty object on the end of a heaving line to help dock a vessel. They still use one on the ferry from Hyannis to Nantucket.
Our cotton monkey fists are tightly tied from cable laid twisted cotton twine. A stainless steel thimble protects the loop against chafing. The medium key ring is 1 1/4 inch in diameter.
The large key ring 1 1/2 inch in diameter. For those who enjoy color, monkey fist key rings are also tied in several different solid colors of braided nylon with contrasting color whippings. Colors include red, navy, royal blue, black, teal, dark green, yellow, Kelly green, hot pink, lavender, orange and white.

TURK'S HEAD COASTERS
Rounding out the turk’s heads are these coasters made from cotton twine. They are very thick, absorbant, and serve well the purpose of protecting tables against water rings which drive you crazy just thinking about getting them out! They go right in the washing machine…drip dry. Four of them come in the set, packaged in a plastic box. A great hostess gift!
