TIME OUT at NANTUCKET KNOTWORKS

After 20 years in business, we at Nantucket Knotworks are taking some time off to refresh our product line, our web site, and - yes - ourselves.  While we will not be taking retail orders during this break, we invite our wholesale clients to click on the tab above to contact us.

At the same time, we don’t like to disappoint anyone who is interested in our knotwork.  Please send your e-mail address to us right here at knots@comcast.net.  We’ll contact you when we are once again up and running.

Have a great winter and thanks for your interest and loyalty over the years.

A NOTE ABOUT NANTUCKET KNOTWORKS

ABOUT NANTUCKET KNOTWORKSThanks for taking the time to read this little note about our knotwork. The first thing I want you to know is that I am the person who designs the products and ties the knots. We make traditional items like rope bracelets and sailors' lanyards, but most of our designs are totally original. You will find gifts for your friends, their homes and boats, children, and even the family dog. These include the famous Nantucket sailors' bracelets, rope lamps, monkey fist key-rings, and all types of unique nautical gifts.

In case you'd like to take up knot-tying yourself, we sell materials and traditional instruction books which can be handy if you find yourself becalmed or fogged in. There are also Rope Bracelet and Monkey Fist Key-Ring Kits with my own instructions and photographs to simplify what can be a challenging - but rewarding! - undertaking.

You will find that we use only the highest quality materials - custom cordage, fine Greek leather; and our fittings are of bronze, stainless steel, or solid brass.

We are fortunate to be able to knot right here on Nantucket Island, where the lure of the sea is strong and the lore of our whaling history is a constant reminder of what it must have been like to live in the days of the great ships of sail.
